Ancient and traditional, yet still time modern and highly effective
Acupuncture is an ancient and traditional form of Chinese medicine and has manifested itself as a modern effective and natural form of treatment against a multitude of syndromes. Apart from chronic aches and pain, addictions such as smoking can be treated and cured within a targeted and defined scope (nicotine withdrawal).
If the acupuncture treatment is carried out in accredited and registered medical practices or therapy centers, then all private medical insurances as well as some social health insurances will assume the entire costs or a large part thereof.
How does acupuncture work?
According to traditional Chinese doctrine, illnesses are caused through disequilibrium between the forces of yin and yang, which control each other reciprocally. With the help of specific needles, acupuncture is able to change this corporeal equilibrium in such a manner that the disorder is remedied. The treatment thus reduces pain, restores a physical and mental balance while simultaneously fostering a relaxed form of well-being. Additionally, it activates the motor system and strengthens the immune system.
How often is it necessary to receive acupuncture treatment?
Generally once or twice a week, although in acute cases this may be more frequent.
How long does a single acupuncture treatment take and when does it take place?
A session takes between 10 and 40 minutes, although the majority of our patients are treated for about half an hour. Treatments are available on an almost daily basis. Appointments can be made weekdays in the early morning or evening as well as Saturday forenoon.
Acupuncture is a very effective method to relieve pain in a gentle and sustainable manner.

How and where are the needles placed and does it hurt?
Between three and 15 sterile single-use needles are applied into different parts of the body and occasionally the ear. This is seldom a disagreeable sensation and almost no patient disrupts his treatment period because it is too painful. If requested, we use a soft laser tool instead of needles for our younger patients and for those that are very pain sensitive.
